5 Standalone Lesbian Romance Books for Your TBR

If you’re anything like me, you’ll know the joy of curling up with a standalone lesbian romance book that delivers all the feels in one glorious, self-contained package.

While my series like The BlissVerse, French Kissing, and Pink Bean get a lot of love (thank you for that!), I’ve also written some standalones that I’m very proud of.

These books are packed with the emotional depth, sizzling chemistry, and unforgettable characters you’ve come to expect, but they each tell a complete story—perfect for when you’re in the mood to devour a book from start to finish.

Here’s a little peek at five of my favorite standalone lesbian romances from my backlist.

1. High Rise

Cover of "High Rise: The Complete Collection" by Harper Bliss, a standalone lesbian romance book set in Hong Kong

Four women. One sexy apartment building. Countless sparks flying.

High Rise follows the lives of four women living in The Ivy, Hong Kong’s hottest (in every sense of the word) luxury apartment building. Alex is a gym instructor with a broken heart. Nat, her roommate, is an acclaimed writer trying to rebuild her life. Then there’s Maddie, the workaholic banker, and Isabella, a psychiatrist who’s seen it all.

As their lives and stories intertwine, romance, steamy encounters, and the occasional dose of drama unfold in ways that might just make you blush.

Why You’ll Love It:
This was my first longer work, inspired by my time living as an expat in Hong Kong. It’s packed with scorching scenes and delicious drama, making it the perfect steamy escape.

2. At the Water’s Edge

Book cover of At the Water’s Edge by Harper Bliss, featuring two women walking hand in hand on a wooden dock at sunset, with a serene lake and pink-hued sky in the background. The tagline reads, 'Sometimes you need to go back to where you came from.

Healing begins where the heart feels at home.

Ella’s life has been turned upside down, and she retreats to her hometown to heal. There, she meets Kay, the warm and wise owner of a lakeside resort.

Kay has her own share of scars, but she’s the kind of woman who sees straight through Ella’s defenses.

This story is raw, emotional, and deeply personal—a book about healing, connection, and finding the courage to love again.

Why You’ll Love It:
This is the book that started it all for me. It was my first full-length novel, and let’s just say I poured a lot of my own heart and soul into Ella’s journey. If you’re in the mood for a tender, heartfelt read, this one will stay with you long after you turn the last page.

3. Once in a Lifetime

Cover of "Once in a Lifetime" by Harper Bliss, a passionate standalone lesbian romance book about second chances.

Passion like theirs doesn’t fade. It burns.

Leigh and Jodie had the kind of love that leaves a mark. But differing visions of the future forced them apart. Years later, life brings them back together, and their old spark quickly reignites.

Can they overcome the obstacles that tore them apart the first time around? Or are they destined to repeat history?

Why You’ll Love It:
This is hands down one of my steamiest books (you’ve been warned!) Leigh and Jodie’s dom/sub dynamic adds an extra layer of heat to this second-chance romance, making it a deeply passionate and emotionally gripping read.

4. Far from the World We Know

Cover of "Far from the World We Know" by Harper Bliss, an emotional standalone lesbian romance book set in small-town Texas.

In a small Texas town, love may be the ultimate act of courage.

Laura arrives in a quiet Texas town, looking for solitude after a traumatic event. Tess, the quick-witted editor of the local paper, isn’t about to let Laura keep her walls up. As the two women grow closer, Laura is forced to face her past—and decide if she’s ready to embrace love again.

Why You’ll Love It:
I wanted to capture the charm of small-town life and the intensity of a stranger with a devastating secret—think Friday Night Lights meets Broadchurch. This is a story about trust, healing, and taking a leap of faith, all wrapped up in a beautiful romance.

5. The Road to You

Cover of "The Road to You" by Harper Bliss, a slow-burn standalone lesbian romance book about opposites attracting.

Two women. One extremely bumpy road to love.

Katherine is all work, no play. Ali is a free-spirited musician with a go-with-the-flow attitude. These two couldn’t be more different—and yet their lives keep colliding over the years in unexpected ways.

Can they bridge the gap between their worlds, or are they just too different to make it work?

Why You’ll Love It:
This is my lesbian take on When Harry Met Sally—but with more emotions, fewer deli scenes, and a lot more romance. It’s a story about how the people meant for you will always find their way back into your life.

Standalone Lesbian Romance: Perfect for Any Mood

Standalone novels are ideal when you want all the love, heat, and emotional payoff without the commitment of a series. Whether you’re after slow-burns, second chances, or sizzling connections, these books have it all.

I’d love to hear from you: Have you read any of these standalones? Or are there others in my backlist that you’ve loved? Let me know in the comments—I’m always curious which stories resonate most with you.

Happy reading!
