Fantasy Casting ‘A Lesson in Love’

UPDATE: NO LONGER PASSWORD PROTECTED.

Fantasy casting is a big thing for me.

Perhaps because I’m such a pantser, characters are always what propel a story forward for me, and it really helps when I can see them in my head (and imagine them doing certain things… being a lesbian romance writer really is a tough profession.) 😉

Quite a few readers like to have their own picture in their head of the characters they read about, which I totally understand. If that’s what you prefer, don’t scroll down!

Here’s who I based Helen Swift and Rory Carlisle on:

Laila Robins as Helen Swift

Charlotte RileyCharlotte Riley as Rory Carlisle

Suffice it to say, I had many a happy writing day picturing these two gorgeous ladies romping around Oxford and Upper Chewford (and other places)! 😉

  1. It’s funny you say some of us like to only have our image in our head for certain characters. Nice choices by the way. Normally I don’t have a problem (too strong a word) with imagining a character.

However, for some reason I kept thinking Helen as a brunette, not sure why. (I do have a thing for a darker shade of hair I suppose). It didn’t put me off and i absolutely enjoyed the story. Funny how the brain works. I mean I read the words several times that she was blonde. But the brain was slow to catch up. Wasn’t the first time I have done in when reading and probably won’t be the last.

  2. When will the audiobook be available? Hope you’ve selected Angela Dawe or Carmen Rose to narrate. They’ve both done an amazing job with your Pink bean series and seasons in love.

  3. Love your choices, but wanting to share mine too. Cate Blanchett as Helen and a dark haired Jennifer Lawrence as Rory. I do, of course crush on these two actresses. Lol. I did enjoy the book very much.
